Griffith Hack’s Leanne Oitmaa has been named a finalist for Intellectual Property Partner of the Year at the 2023 Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards.
The awards showcase outstanding performances by partners (or partner equivalents) across individual practice areas within the Australian legal industry — the only national awards program to do so.
Winners will be announced on Thursday 20 July in Sydney.

About Leanne
Based in Perth, Leanne is a lawyer, patent attorney and trade marks attorney and an integral member of our industry-leading Law & Trade Marks team.
Leanne advises clients across the broad spectrum of intellectual property, from protecting strategies and prosecution through to commercialisation advice and enforcement. She has specific expertise in the areas of telecommunications, optical and photonic technologies, internet applications, e-commerce and mechanical devices.
Drawing on her unique dual role as both a lawyer and patent & trade marks attorney, Leanne brings technical skills with her ICT and engineering patents experience. Combined with her litigation skills and drafting agreements, Leanne always seeks to fully understand and manage client requirements and expectations.
Leanne acts in litigation matters involving patents, trade marks and copyright before the Federal Court of Australia. Additionally, Leanne manages the trade mark portfolios for major international clients.
Leanne joined Watermark Intellectual Property in 2004, before joining Griffith Hack as a principal in 2020 when the two firms merged.
