Pro bono
Our firm has a strong commitment to providing pro bono legal, trade mark and patent services to a variety of not-for-profit organisations and community groups.
Our people take great pride in the work they complete in this space, and are supported in their efforts to do so.
Examples of support provided include:
- Supporting the Arts Law Centre of Australia in the provision of advice on arts-related legal and business issues.
- Providing ongoing trade mark support for Soap Aid.
- Assisting The Brain Foundation with registering trade marks.
- Representing Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia in various trade mark matters.
- IP advice (trade marks, infringement) for the Robin Boyd Foundation.
Mentoring
Our people regularly participate in mentoring initiatives in partnership with educational and research institutions, industry groups and community programs.
We place great importance on supporting the next generation of industry professionals, and use these opportunities to share our collective knowledge on areas including technical subject-matter, commerciality and business growth, entrepreneurialism, and leadership and personal growth.
Examples of programs that our team participate in include the Industry Mentor Networking in STEM Program; women in technology forums and entrepreneurial programs for women.
Sustainable business
Griffith Hack is committed to reducing our impact on the environment by taking a multi-faceted, ever-evolving approach to creating a sustainable business.
Our Environmental, Social, and Governance Committee identifies, recommends and implements new strategies and initiatives to ensure that are constantly advancing and evolving as a business.
Recent initiatives include waste management and recycling strategies, reducing office space energy consumption and transitioning to a paperless office environment.
We have a deep commitment to go further and support the principles of the UN Global Compact.
Charitable initiatives
Griffith Hack is proud of the valuable contributions we make to the community – both through whole-of-firm initiatives and through individual actions.
We regularly participate in firm-wide fundraising and charitable activities that support a diverse range of causes, including Wear it Purple Day, StepTember, CEO Sleepout and RUOk Day. We are also proud to have supported a number of charities over many years including Food Bank Australia and the UNHRC Afghan Appeal.
