Griffith Hack is very proud to continue its support of the annual Western Australian Innovators of the Year (WAIOTY) program.
This year the program was launched at Morning Startup, a fortnightly morning catchup for founders, potential entrepreneurs and the startup community get together to chat, learn from each other, and make new connections.
The program, an initiative of the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI), acknowledges and rewards exceptional innovators in Western Australia who have developed an outstanding innovative product, technology, or service, which is at the emerging innovation or growth phase of development.
In 2024, the program has seen an increased prize pool of $240,000, to be shared across the available categories, with the Innovation Category winner to be awarded $60,000. In addition to the funding, finalists are offered a professionally edited video, photographs, media exposure and an invitation to the ‘Accelerator Program’.
Griffith Hack is a long-standing supporter of the WAIOTY program, and is a gold sponsor in 2024.
The Hon Stephen Dawson MLC, Western Australian Minister for Innovation officially opened the program. Also in attendance was the Patron of WA Innovators of the Year, Professor Fiona Wood. Attendees also heard from previous winners, Kirstin Butcher, CEO of Genvis and Adam Falconer-West, CEO of Franmarine, who discussed their experiences after winning the Award and the benefits it brought to their organisation.
