Rachael Lopez is an Associate lawyer based in Melbourne.
Rachael specialises in brand protection and IP. She is passionate about making IP feel accessible and commercial, in particular, helping clients understand how they can develop a holistic IP strategy which complements the strength of their brand identity.
Her practice encompasses trade mark prosecution, IP licensing, copyright, as well as commercial law areas like competition and consumer law, breach of confidence, commercial contracting, domain name disputes (UDRP and auDRP), website takedowns, privacy law (including GDPR) and aspects of technology law. Rachael has also had experience appearing in contentious trade mark and patent matters before IP Australia and in the Federal Court of Australia.
Rachael was named a Rising Star in the 2023 Doyle’s Guide for Intellectual Property, and a finalist in the 30 under 30 Lawyers Weekly Awards 2023.
She has recently completed her Masters of Intellectual Property Law at Melbourne Law School.
