Ray Tettman is a patent and trade marks attorney based in Melbourne.
Ray has extensive experience in the drafting, prosecution, opposition, enforcement and defence of patents, as well as in the protection and enforcement of registered designs. He regularly provides freedom to operate (infringement), enforcement, validity and due diligence advice to Australian and overseas clients of varying size and complexity.
With a background as an electrical engineer, Ray initially designed and implemented control and information systems for the electricity and mining industries. Since then, he has drafted and prosecuted patent applications related to electrical and mechanical equipment including EV chargers, automotive jump starters, AC-DC power converters, lighting controllers and fixtures, renewable energy (especially wind turbines), sensors, building and architectural products, hand tools, transport and logistics.
He has also worked on medical device technologies including surgical instruments and training aids, sleep apnoea masks, DVT detection, and other electrical and mechanical technologies involved in medical devices.
