Victor Maluki is a trainee patent attorney based in Melbourne.
Victor has worked in the Australian Patent Office as a Patent Examiner for over 7 years. He has examined patent applications in various engineering technologies including autonomous vehicles, smart monitoring and communication systems, land vehicles, aircrafts and engines. Victor’s time at the Patent Office has provided valuable experience in becoming thoroughly familiar with Australian examination practice allowing him the insight into what examiners are looking for and applies this knowledge when assisting to draft and prosecute applications for clients.
Victor holds a Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering with Honours from the University of Salford Manchester, UK, and a Masters of Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne. During his undergraduate degree, Victor participated in a group project for evaluating the design and performance parameters of an existing aircraft. His final year thesis involved examining the mechanical properties of Carbon and Kevlar and investigating the effect of fibre orientation within a hybrid composite laminate comprising both.
His cross-border connection to the aeronautical and aerospace engineering industries from his time in the UK, and now Australia, means he can apply a holistic lens to how the technology translates between international and domestic landscapes.
